Not only did we try to get a dinosaur from one side of the carpet to the other without touching it with our hands, but we also tried to get our classmates across the carpet! The laundry basket certainly helped however, we did find out it was trickier to push a heavy person rather than a lightweight plastic dinosaur! The ultimate test came when one of the students added resistance to the challenge by dragging their hands along the carpet. We were surprised at how much more difficult this action became.

"Busy Beavers" working and playing to learn about force and motion! We pushed and pulled, balanced, created levers, built ramps and caused objects to crash and change direction. We noticed the difference between hard and soft pushes and short and tall ramps. We also built up a great appetite for lunch! Enjoying a feast of teddy grahams and marmalade! We loved our latest read aloud, Paddington Bear! Since Paddington loved marmalade, we had to try it, too. Some of us thought it was delicious and asked for seconds and others were not as enamored! After learning about Paddington's mischievous and playful manner, we began making connections to other characters that are "handfuls". If you like Paddington's antics, we recommend Betty Bunny loves Chocolate Cake, and any Curious George books! |
