S1: Why are we painting during writing time?
S2: Well painting needs details and writing goes with details.
Oh how true! The students first studied photographs of forsythia and then observed the forsythia in its vase before going to their seats to paint. Throughout the process, they also had branched of the forsythia at their tables to reference throughout the activity. The children took their time and were quite proud of the process and their end product. We loved sharing our paintings and noticing the difference in style between everyone's work.
