What a busy day in Kindergarten! We had a blast celebrating the 100th Day and Valentine's Day! Senora Ruiz joined us in our early morning celebration as we handed out valentines to each other. It was so exciting sharing cards and candies with one another! Next, made Trail mix for our snack using 20 bags of treats! Each bag had 100 items! We counted by 100s and found out that we had 2000 pieces of food for our mix! We also made a counting book to help us learn how to count to 100 by 5s! Each page had a photo of one of our hands. We had fun trying to guess which photo matched which student! In addition, we logged onto Raz kids and read and listened to Valentine's Day Books and a story called Super Zero. We are also working on our own 100s book writing and illustrating our ideas about what we would buy if we had $100 and what we might look like when we are 100! (Looking at the photos of what we might look like at 100 made us all feel a little strange! We laughed and squealed looking at the transformations!) We had fun visiting the library and reading books with Mrs. Farrell and always enjoyed checking out new books to borrow! Finally, Mrs. Keilty joined us as we visited our "100s Day Museum" displayed in the hallway. She was so impressed with our creativity and our math skills! Everyone did such a nice job speaking confidently and explaining their projects. There are so many amazing collections, 100 donations for the animal shelter, 100 lollipops, 100 warm fuzzies, 100 beads and jewels, 100 tiny legos, and so much more! We even had a family honor our 100th day and our hard work with a donation to the National Arbor Society, planting trees in our honor! Our work is on display in the hallway for the whole school to see! If you didn't think that was enough fun, we also ended our day with Enrichment clusters! Some of us are enjoying puzzle mania, mandalas, sign language, joke telling, recess games and the artist academy! 100 ideas and 100 smiles throughout our day! Each Friday, we start our day with a whole school dance party! Today was extra special since we all had on our bright blue Goshen shirts! We were energized, excited and ready to start the day! |
